Rosacea

If you have been diagnosed with Rosacea you will know that it is an unpleasant skin condition with symptoms of inflammation of the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead, or eyelids; it may cause redness, vascularity (increased prominence of the blood vessels), swelling or hyperplasia (increase in size of the tissue), or skin eruptions similar to acne.

Now you can take heart as these symptoms can be significantly alleviated with a course of cosmetic laser surgery. So don’t be blighted any more, take some advice from Dr Beattie to see if this treatment is suitable for you.

Treatment

A laser beam is passed through the surface of the skin to reach the blood vessels causing the vessel walls to collapse and later dissolve within the body.

The Aura Starpulse is known as the gentle laser. Patients feel virtually nothing up to a sensation of a hot pinprick for a fraction of a second, it is so gentle that local anaesthetic is seldom necessary.

What to expect immediately after treatment

The area will appear a little paler immediately following the laser application. Several seconds later it will be replaced with a slight redness which will fade within a few days.

Expected outcome

Depending on the severity of the condition, it is possible to completely eradicate the symptoms. It usually requires several treatments to completely eliminate all vessels. You will be advised on the potential outcome at your initial consultation.
